Copacii au în loc de rădăcini
Sfinţi,
Care s-au ridicat de la masă
Şi-au îngenuncheat sub pămînt
Pentru rugăciune.
Numai aureolele
Le-au rămas afară, -
Aceşti copaci,
Aceste flori.
Şi noi vom fi, la rîndul nostru,
Sfinţi,
Rugîndu-ne ca pămîntul
Să rămînă rotund şi binecuvîntat
În continuare.

Gli alberi hanno al posto delle radici
Santi,
Che si sono alzati dalla tavola
E hanno inginocchiato sotto la terra
Per la preghiera.
Soltanto le loro aureole
Sono rimaste fuori,-
Questi alberi,
Questi fiori.
Anche noi saremo, al nostro turno,
Santi,
Pregando che la terra
Resti tonda e benedetta
Continuamente.

The trees have instead of roots
Saints,
Which rose from the table
And knelt under the ground
For praying.
Only their aureola
Remained outside, -
These trees,
These flowers.
We also shall be, on our turn,
Saints,
Praying the earth
To remain round and blessed
Further.
