Daţi vieţii un scop precis : îşi pierde pe loc orice atracţie . Prin inexactitatea finalităţilor, e superioară morţii ; un grăunte de precizie ar coborî-o la trivialitatea mormintelor. Căci o ştiinţă pozitivă a sensului vieţii ar pustii pămîntul într-o singură zi.
Give life a specific purpose : it instantly loses any attraction. Through the inaccuracy of the aims it is superior to the death ; a grain of accuracy would lower it to the triviality of the graves. For a positive science of the meaning of life would devastate the earth in a single day.
