Thick Silk Ties - An Actual Trend Among Men

Thick Silk Ties - An Actual Trend Among Men

By Kyle Jhonson

Silk is a very special fabric and if you touch it once, you can never forget its soft feel and the specific light reflections that have attracted mankind since its discovery. Many cultures are related to the silk and silk manufacturing. The history tells us that some ancient civilizations were directly tied to the silk commerce and that it always was a very expensive and appreciated fabric. For example, the Japanese culture and art is very close to the silk production and to the silk culture. Clothes and accessories were manufactured since the ancient times and were worn as a sign of the social status.

Nowadays, the silk is produced the same way it was produced hundreds of years ago and nothing too substantial has changed in the industry of the silk's manufacturing. The same silk worms are used to produce this fine and unique fabric, and there is still no other synthetic compound that would replace them. The silk worms are producing the silk for their cocoons, but it is then collected by men and spun, so that they obtain a thin and exceptional silk thread. The silk's quality depends on the worms that produce it and the way they make their cocoons.

No matter how the silk is made and either it is of the best quality or not, from my point of view it will always be the most suitable fabric for a tie because of the beautiful light reflections and the shine that it spreads, that draws more attention to your outfit and yourself.

A silk tie is not so easy to make, and sometimes the designers' exaggerated pricing for them is justified by the fact that they have to cut from exclusive silk canvases and trash a lot of the remaining fabric. A tie needs to be cut on the diagonal of the fabric's weaving, so that it will be centered and it keeps its balance. To make it properly structured and accordingly designed, the tie manufacturers have to use a lot of their precious silk fabric.

The thick silk ties have now became a very popular trend and men of any age group are tempted to wear them more and more, instead of narrow ties or those made out of other fabrics. This is because the silk offers a very special and rich folding, it behaves very chic and if you are a real connoisseur, then you know that the richer the tie's knot is, the more masculinity and style it radiates. The other fabrics, such as wool or cotton will never behave the same and will not offer the same glam and shine that a silk tie's offering.

If you want to add more freshness to your wardrobe, than a thick silk tie is all what you need to put more class on your appearance. Also, if you are a woman searching for a suitable and yet practical present for your beloved man's anniversary or Christmas or other special event, then a good thick silk tie will always be appreciated and a good idea. A tie is the type of the present with which you rarely can go wrong with, because it is always actual and it never will get out of fashion. To make the best choice, you have to somehow find a link between your man's character and the colors of the tie. A thick tie will go best with a well-made suit or a "V" shaped sweater.
