How To Choose A Single Sofa Bed Which You Will Actually Like

How To Choose A Single Sofa Bed Which You Will Actually Like

Looking for a single sofa bed which will actually add to the style and look of your room? Then don't despair, they are out there; but they can take a bit of hunting down.

There are a lot of pull out sofa beds on the market and the styles and quality range amazingly. A successful purchase of a sofa bed means finding a good design which is well made; sounds simple.

There are many different styles of single sofa beds, but I believe that the first place to start is comfort. The whole point of a sleeper sofa is that it is a sofa and a bed. So you when you are choosing, the comfort of the bed is as important as the comfort of the sofa. There is absolutely not point in having an uncomfortable bed for guests; you would be better off offering them a blow up bed. Equally, there is nothing worse that having a sofa which you are never comfortable on. It is impossible to enjoy watching a film or reading a book if you are not comfortable.

The next thing to consider is the look of the piece of furniture. Assuming that you are buying this to last, then you will want a fairly versatile item of furniture. I am a big believer in plain fabrics. If you have a plain dark blue sofa, you can spice it up with cushions and throws to create just about any image. Cushions can be used to add texture as well as colour to a room. The difference between the addition of a red cotton cushion or a silk look sequined cushion is amazing. So make sure that when you buy your sofa you leave a little of your budget for the accessories which will create the exact look which you are after.

Now we are getting to one of the hardest areas to define; quality. The quality of a fabric can be hard to judge. If you are in a haberdashery shop you would probably judge the quality in three ways, look, feel and price. Obviously there are times when things are overpriced, but on the whole the more you pay for something the more you will get.

Upholstery fabrics should be thick and durable, but at the same time they should have a soft touch and should be made from natural fibres. As a general rule of thumb, natural wears better.

So if you consider all these points you are likely to end up with a single sofa bed which you will not only love, but will also last you for years and have been a wonderful investment.
