Everything continues to be interesting. . .
Here's a bit of my day, a day that started with hours and hours of dealing with some very rough stuff, and turned into a pleasure. Read more here.
I have discovered, too, that while knitting may be a pleasure, and a comfort, too, in times of crisis, my problem solving abilities are impaired. See my attempts at solving what turned out to be a fairly simple design dilemma here.
In VB's Closet: Rick Owens Long Fine-Knit Cardigan
Victoria wore this Rick Owens long fine-knit cotton cardigan both April 9th and May 28th to soccer practice with her boys. Back in April, she wore it with a black tank, self designed jeans and sunglasses, and her Louboutin boots. She wore it this weekend with leggings, Gucci sunglasses, another black tank, and her Louboutin Ariella Talon boots. Both times she looked comfy and stylish... perfect for a day out with her boys.
This cardigan is currently available on Net-a-Porter here for $845.

RACHEL WEISZ & RALPH FIENNES IN "PAGE EIGHT"! DONALD SUTHERLAND JOINS "THE HUNGER GAMES"! TWO PROJECTS ON VIVALDI WITH MAX IRONS, LUKE EVANS, JESSICA BIEL, BEN KINGSLEY, ALFRED MOLINA ...
time. According to "ScreenDaily" one of the films will star young Max Irons, Elle Fanning and Clare Foy with experienced legends Jacqueline Bisset, Tom Wilkinson and Alfred Molina, and it will follow Vivaldi as he turns a talented, but traumatised, group of illegimate daughters of courtesans, into a world-class orchestra which will play all through Venice and in front of the Pope as well. In the second project, director Patricia Riggen will follow VIVALDI's love problems and the cast could include amazing Luke Evans, lovely Jessica Biel and Ben Kingsley.
Two of the upcoming teen bestseller film adaptations have added new actors: Donald Sutherland has joined the cast of THE HUNGER GAMES film project in which he will play President Snow, the evil and powerful ruler of Panem and its 12
districts. He will star next to Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth (who got his hair died in brown). Another project THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS film adaptation has hired their male lead: young Jamie Campbell Bower will play a demon hunter who helps the main star Lily Collins in her mission. I'm rather shocked they've chosen Campbell Bower, who gives the most horrid and most superficial and pointless performance as king Arthur in Starz's show CAMELOT. The audience is pretty much unanimous on him being the weakest link of that show in which his acting is so annoying that I'm even considering not watching the show anymore even though I'm the biggest fan of historical shows.
"Variety" has just announced that PBS is ready to broadcast their interesting new ensemble drama this Fall. Directed by amazingly
talented David Hare, who wrote marvelous screenplays for Kate Winslet's tremendous THE READER and THE HOURS, this thriller called PAGE EIGHT will have a stunning cast including Bill Nighy as Johnny Worricker, an MI-5 officer who becomes wrapped up in an elaborate conspiracy after the death of his best friend, Benedict Baron the chief of security service (Michael Gambon). The film also stars Rachel Weisz as Johnny's neighbor and his secret enemy and Ralph Fiennes and Judy Davis. PBS is also preparing THE SONG OF LUNCH with Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman about a book editor and his former lover who reconnect 15 years after their original affair.
Victoria's Pregnancy Style Staples
Victoria was rarely spotted outside of her home without one of her two Marc Jacobs quilted leather jackets. She owns two colors - black and a hunter green - which she often paired with jeans and leggings over the first few months. Underneath the coat, she typically wears either a loose fitting tank or T-shirt.

911 Call Says Beckham was Speedy & Driving Recklessly
The L.A. Galaxy star was driving a black Cadillac on the southbound 405 Freeway near Artesia Boulevard on May 6 when he rear-ended a stalled Mitsubishi, the CHP said in a statement.
The Mitsubishi’s owner, a 40-year-old Los Angeles resident, had stopped his vehicle in the carpool lane when his vehicle stalled.
Beckham is described as driving recklessly just before the crash, according to emergency calls obtained by TMZ.com.
One caller told a CHP dispatcher the Cadillac was “speeding really bad … all the way from LAX.”
The Cadillac was tailgating and pulling in and out of the carpool lane before the accident happened, another caller said.
Beckham’s 12-year-old son was in the Cadillac, according to TMZ.com.
Neither Beckham nor his son were hurt, and the soccer star was not cited. The driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, the CHP said.

TEMPTATION
To be nomore : merciful temptation
abyss of sleep where you are smoothly sliding
on the rustlingless wave of the silence.
Forgotten by everybody, forgotten even by you,
banish the hope, pay your watchmen
with the faded coin of resignation. Way
that crosses the fruitless pen of your fate,
of dream and real, delights and pain,
and carry in the blind hole of the pale world,
through the ashes customs of the vigil,
nothingness claimed in a sigh
disclosed as the whisper of a lily.

Travelling With Your Precious Diamonds? Top Tips for Travel
Travelling With Your Precious Diamonds? Top Tips for Travel
By Kelvin Smith
The world has become much smaller to us as travellers and we travel at any time of the year. With flights to destinations all over the world we can now take advantage of the good weather where ever it is. Many of us love to chase the sun.
The Dreaded Packing
The worst part about planning a trip is packing your belongings in seemingly the smallest bag, case or holdall. It is tempting to take everything with us, but unfortunately when we try to squeeze too much into our allowance, our precious items can get damaged. Of course, you want to take that fabulous pair of diamond earrings that he gave you for your birthday, and your much adored diamond engagement ring, but there are some decisions to be made to safeguard your precious items. Here are some tips to keep them safe:~
• It is likely that you will be wearing your diamond engagement ring and/or wedding band, but there is no doubt that you will want to carry other jewels in your luggage. First and foremost, check that your jewellery is insured for the correct amount and your insurance covers for loss away from home and at your holiday destination. Many of us let this slip as we acquire more pieces. It is wise to do an overview of this before you travel. Have your jewellery reappraised and be sure of the current value. Values change over time, and in the current climate it is likely that your diamonds and jewellery are worth more than you think.
• If you are travelling on public transport, trains, even planes in some instances, keep jewellery with you. Have a large shoulder bag that you can easily keep your jewellery in with your other personal possessions, preferably one with a strap that goes across the body. Leaving the case or bag in which the jewellery is being kept unattended is inviting theft. Even hotel staff, who we hope are trustworthy, should not be allow to handle your precious jewels.
• When flying, keep your jewellery in your carry on board bag, and never in checked luggage. Sophisticated screening devices at airports can easily pick up objects of value. Better to have them on your person than whisked away into the luggage hold of a plane.
• Make two lists of the valuable items you are taking with you, leaving one at home with photos of the items. If by some chance a piece should get broken or is stolen or lost, you can then provide insurers with relevant information about your diamond jewellery.
• At your hotel, store jewellery in your room safe, or for really valuable items the hotel safe which is more secure than the one in your room.
• Pack your jewellery carefully. Wrap each piece separately in fabric before putting them in your jewellery case. This prevents pieces rubbing against each other which can cause scratching or breakage.
Following these simple tips should keep your diamond jewellery safe and you will feel that you have done as much as you can do to prevent loss or theft. If you are planning to enhance your collection with exquisite diamonds, go to My Diamonds, mydiamonds.com.au where their selection of diamond jewellery and loose diamonds is breath-taking. Avoiding Sunburn - 7 Ways to Avoid and Treat Red Skin
Avoiding Sunburn - 7 Ways to Avoid and Treat Red Skin
By Thom E Casey
There are few looks that can make us feel better about ourselves than to have nice, tan skin. On the other side, having red, sunburned skin can make one want to never again show themselves outside. Having sunburn can be an annoying, horrible process that begins with pain and itching, ending with a lot of skin peeling.
The summer is nearing closer, which means many of us will be taking the annual family trek to the beach, playing in the water and laying on the sand, soaking in all the rays. It can feel in an open area like there is nothing you can do to protect yourselves, but there are many precautions you can take in order to prevent getting burnt. Here are 10 moves you can make to ensure your skin gets bronzed, not torched:
1. Use an appropriate sunblock
Sunblock (or sunscreen) is ranked by sun protection factor (SPF). The higher the SPF number, the more protection from the ultraviolet radiation that causes sunburn. You should select an SPF based on your skin type and the activities you participate in. If you've used sunscreen but are still getting burned, upgrade to a higher SPF since the lotion is probably absorbing too quickly into your skin.
2. Visit a tanning salon
A few visits to your nearby tanning salon is another option. Having a base tan before hitting the beach will help you to avoid nasty burns.
3. Get some shade
The weather is beautiful, but there can be too much of a good thing. Taking a break from laying on the sand is a great precaution. Be sure to take trips indoors, or even sitting under an umbrella or wearing a wide-brimmed hat can help avert red skin. Staying indoors between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when the sun is at its brightest, is another possible move.
4. Take a shirt along
It does seem like heresy to wear a shirt at the beach, but wearing one intermittently will help you.
We've all gotten sunburned. It can be a source of irritation to summer fun, so here are three recommendations to treat your fried epidermis:
1. Take medication
Ibuprofen and other anti-inflammatory medicines will help reduce inflammation and discomfort. These medications, however, should not be given to children.
2. Apply cream
If you're not experiencing blisters, then a moisturizing cream can help soothe the pain. Put it in the fridge before use and the comfort will be increased.
3. Avoid hot water
Taking a hot shower or bath can increase the pain. Running lukewarm water will help expedite the healing process.
